Vita in motu ("Life is in motion") is a motto found on one of the sundials of Houghton Hall, Norfolk, England. I think about the light and shadow gradually moving on its face, and about the way that life moves in a similar, cyclical way. This lyrical work admires the beauty of a world that spins on its own. Powerless to change its trajectory, we get to bask in its elegant simplicity, and take in all of the steady changes that life gives us, content in knowing that while we're here and after we're gone, time will continue to shift and morph.
