Salutation Over Fractal Ground

trumpet*, piano$25.00 CAD

Program Notes

"Salutation Over Fractal Ground" is a work in two sections, depicting how light reflects off a snowy landscape: first the moonlight, causing a crystalline glimmer; then the sunrise, glowing warmly and painting the snow with beautiful pastels. I play with ideas of colour and timbre, and model the shape of the piece around waking up peacefully and then enthusiastically starting my day.

*includes score, c trumpet part and transposed b-flat trumpet part. The piece was written with c trumpet in mind; b-flat players might consider brightening their timbre to emulate a c trumpet.
