I. Miserere nobis
II. Miserere mei
III. Et tibi miserere

Et tibi miserere
semi-sacred cantata for SATB with two soloists,

clarinet/bass clarinet, horn and piano

This work was composed in the summer of 2021 , as part of an independent student research project funded by the J.E.A. Crake Foundation and supervised by Dr. Kevin Morse at Mount Allison University. It is equal parts an ode to the self and a prayer to (and for) community. More personally, this cantata explores the relationship between my trans and queer identities, community and music. I warmly encourage performers and listeners of this work to envision their own identities and communities as connected to the music through performance and listening.
